ASMAT ETHNIC

 

 In my country there are tribes of ethnic "Asmat" name, which is located in Papua, IRIAN JAYA.
Asmat shelter is a low-lying marshy areas and muddy, in large areas along the beach, covered by tropical rain forests are dominated by mangrove trees and sago forest. 

 The more into the dense jungle interior becomes increasingly scarce, and turned into forest groups scattered in the headwaters of the river where people live Asmat Hulu.

Asmat believe that they are descendants of the gods who came down from the unseen world which is across the sea behind the horizon, where the sun sets every day. In the Asmat people's beliefs, the gods of the ancestor ever landed on Earth at a distance in the mountains. Based on the mythology of the Asmat people living in Flamingo Bay, a god named Fumuripitis. Asmat people sure that the environment is still a wide range of human spirit which they divided into 3 groups :

1. Yi - ow or ancestral spirits are good, especially for lineage

2. Osbopan or evil spirits are considered residents of  

     a  particular type
3. Plop - Ow or the evil spirits of the dead silly
